D. Jeremy DeMar, MA, CPE, ENP is the Executive Director of Mountain Valley Emergency Communications Center (MVECC) in New Providence, New Jersey. Prior to his Executive Director appointment, Jeremy served as the Director of Emergency Communications for the City of Springfield, Massachusetts, and prior to that, as a Shift Supervisor at the Emergency Communications Department (ECD) in Rochester, New York. In addition to his committee work with APCO and NENA, Jeremy serves on a number of workgroups at the local, state, and federal level, including DHS SAFECOM and the DHS First Responders Resource Group. Jeremy has undergraduate degrees in Fire Science and Emergency Management, and in March 2017, he completed graduate studies with the Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey, CA, authoring and publishing a thesis titled “Next Generation 9-1-1: Policy Implications of Incident Related Imagery (IRI) on the Public Safety Answering Point”, which is available for download on the Homeland Security Digital Library.
