Short battery life? There's a bug for that.
On today's first edition of Tech Thursday, we will briefly touch on a recent issue plaguing some iPhone users. So first off, have any of you experienced low battery life on your iPhone 4 or 4S lately? If not you're one of the lucky ones but for more and more people there is something that is destroying the life of their battery. Now before you take your precious iPhone to your nearest Apple store you can save some time and continue reading about an issue with the most recent update. Recently Apple admitted to a bug in iOS 5 that drains the battery life of your iDevice. I for one have not experienced any battery problems but Apple says that it has occurred in "certain" iDevices. So...I guess their idea is based on chance. According to an article from AllThingsD.com, which was featured on FoxNews.com quotes a rep from Apple saying that, "We have found a few bugs that are affecting battery life and we will release a software update to address those in a few weeks."
Apple has yet to specify anything further in regards to this issue and it's unknown whether or not they ever will. With that said, Apple has released a seed to developers for the upcoming iOS 5.0.1 that will take care of the battery life issue. Developers are currently testing it and even those within the Jailbreak community are working to perfect the new update. Until then you can do a few things to save your battery life. Make sure to turn off your Bluetooth function when you're not actually using it. Turn off your location services and anything else that seems to be constantly running. The bluetooth and location service alone will make a world of difference. If you happen to be experiencing more issues then head to your nearest Apple store, otherwise be patient. Good luck folks, cheers!
