Tell Your Representatives It's Time for Better 9-1-1

Often when we think of big public problems, we believe our one voice can't possibly make a difference.  However, in cities, towns, and states across the nation, we've watched telecommunicators get reclassified to better reflect the critical work of being the first of the first responders. Changing policy like this is a huge undertaking that will now open the door to better salaries and benefits. This came directly as a result of people like you bringing the issue to the attention of elected officials and policymakers.

You can do the same to push for Next Generation 9-1-1 in the communities where you live, work, and play.  Call, email, and message your representatives on social media.  Attend networking events and council meetings. Help them understand why next gen 9-1-1 is vital to the communities you serve.  Keep in mind that just like the general public, your representatives may not know how far behind 9-1-1 is with current consumer technology.

Now more than ever, 9-1-1 needs an upgrade.

With our technology, it is also possible to virtualize 9-1-1 centers.  9-1-1 calls can be answered at an EOC mobile communications center, at home, or any place where authorized individuals have high-speed internet connectivity. The connectivity is over a virtual private network (VPN), so this "virtual" 9-1-1 center has all the security of a brick and mortar center while allowing you the flexibility you need to continue operations in critical times.
