When disaster strikes, every second counts. A Tale of Two Hurricanes
After Hurricane Helene swept through Georgia in late September, leaving communities without power and communication lines, INdigital sprang into action. Partnering with the Alabama 911 Board and Alabama PSAPs, we deployed our MEVO Anywhere Kits and Starlink units to restore essential emergency services. Our mobile solutions reconnected nine 911 centers across the state, ensuring that calls were answered despite outages. With support from the Georgia Emergency Management Agency, local PSAPs, and even the Alabama State 911 Board, the seamless response highlighted the importance of collaboration and the flexibility of Next Generation 911 (NG911) technology. Meanwhile, as Hurricane Milton approached Florida’s coastline, INdigital once again activated its emergency response team. Technicians, market managers, and our chief information officer fanned out across the state with MEVO Anywhere Kits and more than twenty Starlink units in tow. As storms and power outages threatened to disrupt services, our goal remained clear: keep PSAPs running, no matter what. With twice-daily calls open to Florida PSAPs, we provided real-time updates and guidance to ensure that 911 centers stayed operational throughout the crisis.
Powering 911 Services Anywhere, Anytime
At the heart of these operations was INdigital’s MEVO Anywhere Kit, a mobile, IP-based solution that allows PSAPs to handle emergency and administrative calls from any location. Whether on the frontlines of Hurricane Helene’s devastation or stationed ahead of Hurricane Milton’s impact, the portability and advanced functionality of MEVO ensured that 911 services continued uninterrupted.

Thanks to rapid assistance from Henry and Walker Counties in Alabama, the MEVO Kits were shared across state lines, keeping emergency lines open.

It was inspiring to see public safety teams come together to restore services and support communities,” she said.
